A leading entertainment and gaming operation seeks a seasoned Financial Controller to manage the full financial accounting function within its casino division.
Reporting into senior finance leadership, this role carries responsibility for payroll, casino revenue accounting , financial reporting (including SARS compliance), budgeting, audit coordination, stakeholder engagement and overall team management of two Accountants and 7 Clerks.
The successful candidate will ensure 100% compliance with the South African Revenue Service and the Mpumalanga Gambling Board (where applicable), while maintaining strong internal controls, data integrity and adherence to gaming legislation. A 3-year financial qualification (BCom/CIS/IAC/CCA – NQF 5) is required, with professional registration (CIS/IAC or SAICA for CA). Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Financial Controller/Finance Management role within a regulated environment is essential, with proven management experience. Strong GAAP/IFRS knowledge, audit exposure, payroll oversight, financial systems proficiency (e.g. Accpac) and advanced MS Office skills are required. A valid gambling licence is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate high ethical standards, analytical strength, leadership capability and the ability to drive financial excellence within a high-volume operational environment.
